Genetic Stereotype – 2003 – 2014

Paints on canvas

Genetic Stereotype is a series of one hundred paintings forming an installation of diagrammatic charts. The paintings sample statistical information on behaviour, environment, life style, addiction, crime, politics and economic activity, where the data is ambiguous or contradictory.

Referencing real life studies the paintings explore ways that purpose is ascribed to information and the roles we play in consuming and disseminating such information.

A set of eighteen of the chart paintings were shown in Future Dreaming, the first public exhibition from the series.
